Teaching Strategies and Students’ Proficiency in Mathematics: A Correlation

Abstract

The study determined the relationship between the extent of the utilization of teaching strategies among teachers in Mathematics and the proficiency in Mathematics among the junior students of the public secondary schools in the second congressional district in the Division of Zamboanga del Norte. The study revealed that there was a moderate utilization of the use of instructional materials in the part of the teachers and students as well. However, most of the teaching strategies have been tried in Mathematics classes by the teacher. What appears to be needed is a training on the skillful use these strategies.
