Abstract

This study intends to find out the relationship between English class anxiety and second language productive competency level of 103 Agriculture students of Jose Rizal Memorial State University, School Year 2011–2012. The study revealed that students were anxious in their English classes which varied significantly between male and female students but with no significant variation in terms of year level and campus. The students’ English class anxiety did not hinder them in performing very well in the second language productive competency in terms of speaking and writing, where highly anxious students, however, performed less than the anxious ones.
